• Woodpecker and Pine Warbler At Suet Feeders (FeederWatch)

Project: Backyard Pishing; Private Residence, Talking Rock, Pickens County, North Georgia, USA
Date: 2013.03.09; BEAUTIFUL morning that went into overcast, NO ICE TODAY!
    Camera: Kodak Z740 Zoom

Mixed flock of two in a scene slightly familiar from couple weeks ago, just two different suet feeders.. I say mixed flock because I do see woodpeckers and warblers together at the feeders a lot. In this video, it’s a Woodpecker and a Pine Warbler (Setophaga pinus, PIWA) wanting access to one suet feeder. This time the Pine Warbler moves on down the line a little and feeds from a second suet feeder that is an olive green melamine or Melmac coffee cup. Both feeders were refreshed just last night with the newest batch of homemade suet. PS.. It tastes pretty good, actually.. Kinda nutty and not like the peanut butter that forms part of the coagulent base.. :) )

PS The Woodpecker’s ID, am looking into it. “Feels” a little different and I’m not seeing much bar markings on the tail. Headed outside to do more chores….. and taking a ruler with to measure that green basket suet feeder to gain perspective that way, as well.. :)
