Hey everyone! \(@ ̄∇ ̄@)/
This is my first ever and very own tutorial on how to make your own tap dance floor! ☆I ONLY PAID 15$ FOR MY FLOOR! ☆
I came up with this concept after searching the web and not being able to find a dance floor within my price range! (Broke college student here!(; ̄д ̄))
The name of the game here is to make a dance floor for under the retail price online! (some as much as $150.00) (*゚ロ゚)

Step 1: Purchase the cheapest OSB plywood you can find at your local hardware store! I only paid $8.00 for my piece!
Step 2: Have them cut that long piece of wood in half! You should be left over with a 4ft x 4ft piece which is perfect enough to dance around and have a lot of room but not too big or small! I found this was the perfect size but if you feel its too big or small have them cut it again! ( My Home Depot charged .25cents a cut! )
Step 3: Get some foam gym mats (Yoga mats will even work if you have some laying around the house you dont ever plan on using!) and a bunch of Gorilla Glue and glue the gym mats down to the rougher side of the OSB plywood. This helps keep the wood from moving around underneath you while you dance and it provides extra help to keep you from hurting yourself! When done, let it dry! I let mine set overnight just to be safe! (You will know the Gorilla glue is dry when it puffs up!)
If this is it for you then good luck on your future practices and performances, for those that want to continue on to make a more performance based floor. There are a few more steps you need to do.
Step 4: Get some Liquid Nails and Laminate wood panels (1 box or about 6 panels should fill a 4×4 piece of wood) Put a generous amount Liquid nail on the back of the laminate panel and pop into place! Work Quickly as liquid nail dries pretty fast. Let dry! (I let mine set all night)
Step 5: You are done congratulations!!!
