• Basotect, the Melamin Foam, in solar thermal applications

In solarthermics, Basotect® is employed in several different areas: from the insulation of pipes and the insulation of hot water tanks through to evacuated tube collectors and flat solar panels. Basotect is a flexible, open-cell foam made from melamine resin, a thermoset plastic. Its characteristic feature is its intricate three-dimensional network structure consisting of slender and thus easily shapable filaments. The movie looks at this potential area of use and shows the different application areas of Basotect in solar thermal industry.
