100% Free shop cabinets. I needed to organize the limited workspace in the shop and keep dust off some of the equipment. I have been collecting scrap particle board, MDF, melamine, plywood etc. for just such a project. Around here particle board can sometimes be found dumped in the woods or alongside roads.
Particle board is not ideal for joining with screws, but in this case i think the construction is even stronger than the “furniture” it came from. Some of the boards had some water damage to them, but that is OK with me. I wanted function not finesse.
Interior wall paint on a non-sanded melamine surface….bad idea, but the paint was soon going bad and the laquer actually made the surface quite tough and dirt resistant.
